Le pêcheur de Hoi An

Hoi An, Vietnam, c'est avant tout une atmosphère. J'ai choisi une photo d'un pêcheur prise en fin de journée (avec une lumière pas terrible...). Les lumières s'allumaient petit à petit dans le village et on apercevait à peine les pêcheurs avec leur barques sur le fleuve. Ci-dessous, j'ai tenté d'apporter cette chaleur qui manque à la photo originale tout en épurant la composition.

Hoi An's fisherman - Hoi An, Vietnam, is first an atmosphere. I have chosen this photo of a fisherman taken at the end of the day (with a quite poor lighting conditions...). The lights were turning on, one after the other, in the village and we hardly could see the fishermen on the river. Above, I have tried to make the composition minimal and bring some of the warmness that was missing on the original photograph.

Blue note

La photo originale (copyright Bade Babayigit) est déjà très belle...alors il fallait trouver autre chose pour transformer la photo "utilement". J'ai opté, ci-dessous, pour un re-cadrage en diptyque et des bleus plus "chauds".


Blue note - the original photo (copyright Bade Babayigit) is already very nice...so I had to find something else to transform the photo and bring some value to the process. I chose, above, for a new framing in a tiptych and warmer blues.

Flouka

C'est le terme (proche de Felouque) utilisé en Afrique du Nord pour désigner une petite barque de pêche (avec ou sans voile). Sur toutes les rives de la méditerranée, ce type d'embarcation en bois est fabriqué selon la même méthode ancestrale. Pour cette note, la photo originale est prise à Bizerte, Tunisie, juste avant le coucher. C'est un moment de la journée précieux pour tout photographe car la qualité de la lumière permet d'explorer plein de possibilités. Dans le travail numérique illustré ci-dessous, j'ai essayé de faire ressortir les couleurs tout en adoptant un style moderne rompant avec le classicisme de la prise de vue originale.

Flouka - This is the word (close to the word Felucca) used in North Africa for small fishng boat (with or without sails). On all banks of the Mediterranean sea, this type of wooden craft is handbuilt according to the same ancestral method. For this post, the original photo was taken in Bizerte, Tunisia, just before sunset. It is a  time of the day that is precious to all photographers because the quality of the light allows to explore plenty of creative possibilities. and the various possibilities that it offers. In the digital work illustrated above, I tried to bring up the colors while adopting a modern painting style breaking with the classicism of the original shot.

Marée basse

Une vue bretonne à marée basse. La photo originale ne présente pas beaucoup d'intérêt de par ses couleurs et son cadrage. Rompant avec l'ambiance de désolation dégagée par ce support, j'ai tenté d'en faire quelque chose de différent en resserrant le cadrage et apportant plus de couleurs, le tout dans un style impressionniste.

Low tide - A view in Britanny in low tide. The original photo doesn't carry a lot of interest with its lack of colors and its wide framing. I have tried to make something different by closing up around the boat and by bringing more vivid colors, in an impressionist style.
